Podcast Studio Checklist: Prepare for Your First Recording in Pune

A practical checklist for planning your first podcast recording: format, guests, audio, lighting, wardrobe, and deliverables.

1. Define the outcome

Decide who the episode is for, what the listener should learn, and the one action you want them to take. A clear outcome makes the conversation more useful than a list of random questions.

2. Choose a workable format

Select solo, one-to-one interview, or panel format. Agree on approximate episode length and whether you also need short vertical clips.

3. Prepare guests without over-scripting

Send guests the theme, location, expected duration and broad questions. Encourage specific examples and stories rather than memorised answers.

4. Plan your audio

Ask the studio about microphones, headphones, noise control and whether separate audio tracks can be recorded. Silence phones and avoid noisy jewellery.

5. Dress for camera

Choose comfortable, camera-friendly clothes. Avoid tiny stripes, high-contrast patterns and accessories that tap against the microphone.

6. Build in setup time

Allow time for arrival, mic placement, framing, lighting checks and a short sound test before recording.

7. Agree on deliverables

Confirm whether you need raw footage, an edited full episode, subtitles, thumbnails, vertical reels or social-media cutdowns. These are different production tasks.

8. Confirm booking details

Share the shoot date, number of participants, preferred set and any equipment requirements. Confirm availability before announcing the recording.
